Re: its been kinda quiet!
Twitter is probably are most popular outlet, it's quick and easy and to the point. Seeing as you guys are hungry for an update here's a few things you can keep in mind:
1. We took about two weeks off to celebrate Christmas and New Years with our family, BUT, we did reach a major milestone we wanted completed before we left for Xmas break. We are now back and things are once again full steam ahead.
2. In terms of programming progress a lot of the most core systems are complete (we actually overhauled a lot of these systems several times making it better and better, more efficient, smoother to play, and much easier for us to continue development at a later stage buy setting up a framework which allows us to easily build on top of these systems or generally just throw in extra content whenever we need to with minimal extra work). So that will be much better for you guys as players and for us as devs in the long run.
3. We've been trying out and investigating plenty of third party software and tools which allow us as a small development team to bring the very best in terms of quality at a reduced work rate for us. We have ran numerous tests on a lot of these to ensure they are beneficial to gameplay & performance friendly.
4. We want to make this game as accesible to everyone as possible and have tried different approached to ensure that goal stays within reach. E.g The alpha ship has been scraped and rebuilt at least 3 times in three different ways, fianlly we have a way which allows player customization/good quality visuals and great performance for both networking and graphics. (With no vsync keeping the frame rate down, a FPS count of 400 + was achieved with max graphics settings on the ship. Beating previous tests ten fold.
5. In terms of what you can expect to see soon, we will be releasing concepts of the final ship interior and very shortly after, in-game screenshots of the ship.
6. At the moment we are currently working on plugging in all the subsystems together, networking, and then some final quick tests before we launch the kickstarter and a pre-alpha for those who have pledged. Looking forward to some bug reporting and feedback to ensure our core systems are at there strongest.
7. An estimated target date for the KS atm sits around February, which we strongly believe we should achieve.

Re: its been kinda quiet!
just make sure you get us all ready for kickstarter before you launch it, that is equally as important as having a good kicker!
also, looking forward to seeing what you guys have been up to!
