What happens when you die?

Where exactly do you spawn when you die, and how hard is it to get your stuff back? I read that you would spawn at last watch station, but if that's the case how would one get back to the ship?

Unless your revived by one of your teamates (we'll let you know the details on this later as it involves a lot of mechanics and some design ideas have changed) you'll be fine, BUT, if you spawn back on Last Watch alone I.E your team is still alive and with the ship, you can take a taxi service back to the planet they are on. Hopefully your teammates would have picked up your gear, or you may have to go back and collect it yourself.

If your ship is unfortunately BLOWN UP and you all end up back on last watch you'll need to pay for the repairs (the hull gets transported back to a hanger at last watch). If you can't afford the repairs you'll go into debt.

That's about all I can think of. Subject to change, of course.

What about the gear that was on the ship? Is it just the hull that comes back to Last Watch?

Yeah, I would assume because of the "unforgiving" aim I think they're going for, the gear would all be gone and you'd have to start anew. (Just keeping the same ship is pretty generous I think.)

Any items stored on the ship, cargo bay, personal lock-box are destroyed if your ship goes down. Only the hull is retrieved.

Will you be able to place permanent stashes on planets so you can keep some of your goods safe in case of exploding ships?

Last Watch has a safety deposit terminal you may utilize. Here you can store objects completely free from any threat of loss or damage.
