Multiplayer Questions
Hi,
As you're planning this game to be co-op I was wondering how the games will be hosted. Will it be a persistent world/adventure on a private server or will it be short random gameplay with strangers.
Furthermore how will the servers be hosted. Will it be minecraft style where we will host on our own machines or are you planning a central server somewhere. If the former will we have control over certain parameters of our gameplay world?
Thanks for your time

Oh and could we get an offtopic subforum. I loove guff!

Re: Multiplayer Questions
Craig will set up an offtopic subforum.
Our networking works off a cloud server. As it stands at the moment, you start a game and decide whether you want to play it offline (solo) or online (host it). You give your name a unique name, so that others who want to play with you can join your game by typing in the same name. These players who join will be playing in 'your' instance of the game.
We chose cloud servers because it's a cost effective solution and is completely scale-able. This service is provided to all our players free of charge.
After the games release, we can easily port the game to a server setup quite easily and open the doors for people who are wanting to host their own servers.
